Biodesign Night: Keynote William Myers and biodesign talks

BlueCity Lab, NAi Booksellers and Design Platform Rotterdam present:

William Myers is a curator, writer, and teacher based in Amsterdam. His first book Biodesign (new edition 2018) identifies the emerging practice of integrating biological processesprocesses into design and architecture. This practice is at the center of numerous exhibitions, competitions, publications, and university courses that have sprung up in the last five years. The book is published by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and Thames & Hudson worldwide. His second book Bio Art: Altered Realities (2015) profiles art that responds to advances in the life sciences which disrupt our notions of identity, nature, and the definition of life.

This year William presents the updated version of his book Biodesign, featuring some of the latest developments in the field. During this night, you will be tuned into the latest trends in biofabrication and biodesign, and invited to discuss its applications and implications. 

The evening will feature time for you to meet, greet, and ask questions of people in the field. Signed copies of the new book will be available for purchase.
