Like train tracks receding in the distance, our lives eventually hit the end of the line. Along the way, people tend to live parallel lives. Work. School. Eat. Sleep. Rinse and repeat. We exist side by side with strangers. Always keeping the same distance of anonymity between us.
But unlike those tracks, our paths don’t run in straight lines. We can meet someone new at every turn.
We may be living parallel lives. But we don’t have to go through them alone.

Climate Justice Rotterdam (formerly ICAR – Inclusive Climate Action Rotterdam) is a movement and program within the municipality of Rotterdam that champions fair, just, and inclusive climate policies.
They work to share knowledge, connect people, provide advice, empower communities, and initiate change—ensuring that all Rotterdam residents, regardless of background or socio-economic status, have equal opportunities to protect themselves from the impacts of climate change, enabling them to lead healthy and safe lives.
Their mission? To tackle climate-driven inequality by working alongside policymakers, communities, and organizations to prevent the deepening of inequalities and reduce existing disparities.
