Rotterdam claims to be a hospitable and inclusive city. A city where everyone feels welcome, has the opportunity to participate in public life and where everyone can move around freely and safely. But how hospitable and inclusive is Rotterdam's public space in reality? Floor van Ditzhuyzen - architect, researcher and curator - takes you along prominent and less prominent public spaces in Rotterdam, starting at the Central Station and ending in the Museum Park.

Floor van Ditzhuyzen is an architect, curator and researcher. After her studies at TU Delft she worked at Kuiper Compagnons and Koen van Velsen Architecten. In 1995 she founded together Gijs Niemeijer designstudio 'de Ontwerpwerkplaats'. She was teacher at Willem de Kooning Academy and Rotterdam Academy for Architecture. Currently she teaches at TU Delft. Van Ditzhuyzen is co-founder of the international 'We Love Public Space' Festival. She made the blog 'Public Space Detective' in which she observes, questions and defines the usual and unusual phenomenon in public space. Also have a look at www.welovepublicspace.com.
